Advantage Description

Borneol is a bicyclic organic compound and a terpene. It is a white colored lump-solid with a sharp camphor-like odor and slightly denser than water and insoluble in water. It is easily oxidized to the ketone (camphor). Borneol can be synthesized by reduction of camphor by the Meerwein–Ponndorf–Verley reduction (a reversible process). Borneol can be found in several species of Heterotheca, Artemisia, Callicarpa, Dipterocarpaceae, Blumea balsamifera and Kaempferia galanga.
