According to ICIS-MRC price report, in Russia, domestic producers of the S-PVC (Suspension Polyvinylchloride) will raise supply prices by 1.5-4 thousand roubles per ton in August. Compared to the last month, many enterprises have increased the price of the S-PVC by 4 thousand roubles per ton in July. In general, July deals for resin with K=64/67 were negotiated in the range of Rb72,000-74,000/tonne CPT Moscow, including VAT. Deals for resin with K=70 were also discussed starting from Rb72,000/tonne CPT Moscow, including VAT.
It is said by the specialists that Russia exports large quantities to foreign markets, but there is no shortage of S-PVC in the domestic market although some manufacturers say that they have no excess stock on hand. Due to the increase in the price of resin, producers will reduce purchase volumes.
The prices of S-PVC have continued to go up in the market since the beginning of the year and there are some objective reasons. It is important to know that Russian resin is cheaper than similar imported products. So to make up the difference in price, manufacturers continue to raise prices for the finished product. For example, the rising price of PVC will accordingly cause a rise in the price of the resin glass. Meanwhile the increasing demand for PVC products can also start another round of resin consumption and make the price rise.
Although Russian PVC continues to rise in price, the imported price will not be competitive in Russia due to the conservation policy.
