Domestic Titanium Dioxide Market
Sichuan Lomon raised prices of titanium dioxide for ￥1000/tonne this Wednesday, after ceasing orders for nearly two weeks. Billions followed up with the price increase, which was the first price hike after the merge of Lomon and Billions. This price increase movement brought more positive signals to the domestic titanium dioxide market. In the same period, more and more producers participated in the price hike event at ￥500/tonne in average.
Currently the prices of rutile titanium dioxide in domestic market are concentrated in the range of ￥13000-14500/tonne ($1994-2224), and ￥9800-11000/tonne ($1503-1687) for anatase titanium dioxide. The prices have increased in certain degree in the overall market.
Although it is November which is tradition off-season for titanium dioxide, the TiO2 market this year seems to have no idea what is off-season. The domestic titanium dioxide market still moves toward positive direction in the short period, with the advantages of expensive raw materials, strengthened environmental inspections, and low pressure on inventory.
