Domestic Titanium Dioxide Market
The prices of TiO2 in domestic titanium dioxide market rocketed in this week, represented by the leading producer Lomon Billions raising prices by ￥1000/tonne. It gave great confidence to other producers on the prices rising efforts. Most producers followed up by raising ￥1000-1500/tonne which was a big increase showing an intent of achieving the goal in one single step.
Currently most titanium dioxide producers are firmer in executing prices. The main contract prices of rutile titanium dioxide are ￥14300-15500/tonne ($2075-2250), while prices of anatase titanium dioxide raised a lot to ￥12400-13000/tonne ($1800-1887).
Although the warm atmosphere in the domestic TiO2 market influenced this price increase event, the upgraded environmental inspection activity in Panzhihua played an important role in the price rising event. About 310,000 tonnes of capacity in Panzhihua were shut down by the environmental inspection which has pushed the inventory movements in certain extents although the domestic demand for TiO2 is normal in the end of the year. It is predicted that the prices of domestic titanium dioxide market will still be firm.
