The domestic titanium dioxide market in China has been particularly hot in November, with price raising notices from various TiO2 producers spreading through the whole month. Especially after Sichuan Lomon and Billions raised prices of TiO2 for ￥1000/tonne at the beginning of this month, most of the TiO2 producers in China followed up the price increase initials by an average of ￥500-1000/tonne. Among them, some of the producers even raised prices for more than one time to a high level of ￥2000/tonne.
For domestic anatase titanium dioxide market, it seems to embrace the good season for the industry after the continuous price increases in rutile titanium dioxide market previously. With the factors of global trade improvements, and environmental inspection pressures, most of the domestic producers of anatase titanium dioxide are tight in spot supply. On the other hand, with the backup of raw materials’ prices, the prices of domestic anatase TiO2 market raised obviously to a high level at ￥11500-12500/tonne ($1669-1814) in this month. A few producers even closed contracts at ￥13000/tonne ($1887), which has greatly reduced the price gap between anatase and rutile TiO2. The main contract prices for rutile titanium dioxide this month is ￥13600-14800/tonne ($1974-2148).
Till now, the domestic titanium dioxide market is still heading to a positive situation which may possibly lead to price increases in the coming December. But the prices were adjusted too frequently and the traditional off-season for TiO2 industry is coming which may influence the market. Therefore most of the TiO2 producers are inclined to settle down the price initials more than raise the prices. It is recommended to consider carefully before making any movements in the domestic TiO2 market now.
