At present, China has issued several government documents for the IC industry, including "The Outline for the Promotion of the National IC Industry Development" and "Made in China 2025", and has promised to offer fiscal preferential policies to the IC industry, which confirm the goal to develop an international IC brand. In view of the fast growth of the domestic IC industry, demand of electronic chemicals may expect a rapid growth.
Electronic chemicals related to IC industry include silicon wafers, electronic gases, wet chemicals, photoresist, etc. According to the IHS markit report, the market size of China's IC supporting electronic chemicals in 2017 is about 2.2 billion dollars among which the largest market is silicon wafers, accounting for 32%, followed by electronic gas (23%).
According to statistics, the electronic chemicals mentioned above have an annual growth of over 10%. At present, large international companies has occupied the main shares of the domestic market, and most high technology products are highly dependent on imports. However, in recent years, with the support of government, some domestic enterprises have made breakthroughs in the industry. Take Jiangfeng Electronics as an example, it has changed the situation of total dependence on imports for semiconductor targets, and has brought its products to the international market.
In the next few years, China will continue to develop the IC supporting chemical industry, narrow the gap with advanced companies, and enhance its own supporting capabilities.
