Acrylic polymers are a group of polymers noted for their transparency, resistance to breakage, and elasticity. According to Thai Customs, in the first five months of 2019, Thailand has imported a total of 47,521 MT of acrylic polymers (HS 3906 acrylic polymers, in primary forms) with the import value amounting to 3,689 million Baht, seeing a 10.8% and 6.0% decrease respectively from the same period of last year.

Thailand mainly imports acrylic polymers from Asian countries and America. From January to May in 2019, China, Japan, Malaysia, United States and Singapore are the top five acrylic polymer supplier countries to Thailand. Among them, China exports about 719 million Baht acrylic polymers to Thailand, accounting for 19.5% in the total import value by Thailand in the first five months of 2019.
During January-May, 2019, Thailand has exported a total of 46,653 MT of acrylic polymers, seeing a 5.2% year on year increase. However, the export value during this period is 2,484 million Baht, nearly the same with the previous year.

The acrylic polymers in Thailand are mainly exported to China and its neighbor countries in Southeast Asian countries. In the first five months of 2019, it exported 421 million Baht of acrylic polymers to China, 385 million Baht to Malaysia, 361 million Baht to Indonesia, accounting for 16.9%, 15.5% and 14.5% respectively in the total acrylic polymers export value.
Therefore, China is both the number one acrylic polymers exporter to Thailand and also largest acrylic polymers importer from Thailand.
