According to China Customs, a total of 2.27
million tons of fertilizers (including the ammonium chloride and potassium
nitrate under HS 28, and all chemical fertilizers and mineral fertilizers under
HS 31) have been exported from the country in April 2019, and the accumulated
export in the first four months is 8.02
million tons, seeing a 45.2% year-on-year growth.
Main Fertilizer Export From China in April
It can be seen from the below data that,
main fertilizers exports in February have all increased compared to the same
period of last year. In this month, China has exported 98,300MT of urea, 541,200MT
of DAP, 63,833MT of NPK, 21,700 MT of potassium chloride, increasing by 229.7%,

Though the export volume of potassium
sulfate is 84,456MT in this month, it has kept the highest YoY increase rate
among these main fertilizers at 15256% compared to the 549.96 MT exported in
the same period of last year.

Main Fertilizer Import by China in April
On the aspects of import, China imports 1.19 million tons of fertilizer in April,
and the accumulated fertilizer import in the first four months has reached 3.93
million tons, seeing a 10.7% year-on-year growth.
Potassium chloride and NPK are the two
major import fertilizers in April. The import of potassium chloride is 979,100
MT and NPK is 152,700 MT, seeing a 21.1% and 613.1% YoY increase respectively.
On the other
hand, the import of urea and potassium sulfate has decreased by 96.4% and 31.5%
respectively from the same period of last year.
