25,000 residents of Russian Tomsk celebrated Chemical Industry Workers Day
Last week, about 25,000 residents of Russian Tomsk celebrated the official festival---Chemical Industry Workers Day.
The local media said that large-scale chemical enterprises in Tomsk acted as a stabilizing force in the chemical industry, such as Tomskneftekhim, Sibmetakhim and Cryogenmashgas. Total chemical products production has reached 28 billion roubles in 2018, rising by 17% compared with last year. Besides, chemical output value accounted for 16% of the total industrial output value.
Chemical industry is one of the fastest growing industries in Tomsk in recent years. Several large-scale chemical enterprises have expanded the scale of production and contributed greatly to the expansion of the industry. For example, Sibmetakhim has expanded the production of formalin and urea formaldehyde, while Tomskneftekhim, and Cryogenmashgas have respectively expanded the production of polymer and natural gas.
Russian government will also introduce relevant policies and set up a foundation in order to improve labor productivity in chemical industry.
Chemical products from the Tomsk region are very popular in the domestic market, and they are also sold around the world. Local government plans to establish a joint institution, which will help chemical enterprises to export their products overseas. In addition, these enterprise can enjoy preferential loan policies.
