On January 19, 2021, Yingkou Kanghui Petrochemical Co., Ltd, a subsidiary Hengli Petrochemical Co. Ltd signed officially a contract for the production of the biodegradable plastic material project of 600 kt/a PBS, marking the settlement of China's current largest and highest capacity of degradable new material project in Hengli Petrochemical.
As early as August 2019, Kanghui petrochemical started the cooperation with Dalian University of Technology to independently develop the production formula of "PBS biodegradable polyester new material". On January 25, 2020, the project with an annual output of 33 kt/a of PBS biodegradable polyester started its first production.
Less than a month later, Hengli Petrochemical moved to sign the biodegradable plastics project project of 600kt/a PBS. The project also adopts the technology and formula independently developed by Hengli, with the largest scale and the highest production capacity in China, which will greatly alleviate the shortage of supply and demand of PBS biodegradable plastics in China.
As a leading enterprise of large-scale, high-end and differentiated development in China's polyester chemical fiber manufacturing field, Hengli Petrochemical has comprehensive competitive advantages of capacity scale effect and leading technology research and development.
