On Oct.8, Our OKCHEM Egyptian team visited the Egyptian Plastic Exporters & Manufacturers Association (EPEMA) in order to learn more about the development of the plastics industry in the Egyptian market and keep up with the market trend.
Egyptian Plastic Exporters & Manufacturers Association (EPEMA) is an independent non governmental industrial organization aiming to add value to the Egyptian plastic community in specific and Egyptian industry in general. Industrial, marketing and environmental issues have particular importance.
Established in 2006, it currently has more than 250 members. As the only official plastic export association (NGO) in Egypt, it is the international association representing companies that acquire, process, and promote the output of more than 90 percent of plastic processing capacity in Egypt.
During the visit, we met with Mr. Mohamed Taher, the executive director of the EPEMA, who is willing to share the industrial information with us. In our conversation, we got to know that at present, Egyptian plastics exports are mainly concentrated in African Continent, Middle East, Europe. Some sectors also export to the USA but seldom export to Asia.
Our OKCHEM Egyptian team also proposed to make presentations at the annual meeting or large-scale events organized by the EPEMA, Mr. Mohamed agreed and told us that all of this is free (after becoming a member of EPEMA). There is a large annual meeting held by the EPEMA and we can give a presentation at that stage, which offers us definitely a great platform to introduce our company.
We believe that cooperation with the EPEMA allows us to provide customers with more customized and professional services, aiming to help both the chemical buyers and suppliers from all over the world to expand their chemical market and grow their chemical business.
