In
the first half of 2019, the import and export volume of nutrition and health
food in the mainland reached US $2.417 billion, up 14.72% year on year,
according to the analysis of the import and export trade of nutrition and
health food in the first half of 2019 released by the health business
department of China Chamber of Commerce for the import and export of medicine
and health products. Among them, the export value was 893 million US dollars,
up 13.23% year on year.
In
the first half of the year, the export of nutrition and health food in the
mainland maintained a reasonable growth rate. The export volume of Jiangsu,
Guangdong, Shanghai and Guangxi was relatively large. The main export markets
were the United States, Japan, Myanmar and Thailand. Among them, the export
volume to Hongkong (China), Myanmar and Thailand has achieved significant growth, with a
year-on-year growth of 55.48%, 30.78% and 46.46% respectively. Affected by trade
frictions between China and the United States, exports to the United States
amounted to US $150 million, down by 9.8% year on year.
China
is the world's largest producer and exporter of dietary supplement raw
materials, and has outstanding advantages in the production and export of vitamins,
minerals, amino
acids, extracts
(plants, animals) and other dietary supplement raw materials.
In
the first half of this year, the export volume of plant extracts from the
mainland reached US $1.252 billion, an increase of 5.52% year-on-year. The main
export markets were the United States, Japan, India, Hong Kong, South Korea,
Malaysia, etc., of which the export volume to the United States and Hong Kong
decreased to varying degrees, while the export volume to Malaysia, India and
South Korea increased by a large margin, 82.46%, 56.5% and 30.61% respectively.
The top five export varieties are eucalyptus oil,
menthol,
non citrus essential
oil, liquorice extract and Ginkgo
biloba extract.
The
export of coenzyme
Q10 decreased by 30.26% and the export value was US $63 million. The export
value of coenzyme
Q10 to the main export markets such as the United States, Canada, Germany
and Australia decreased to varying degrees. The export growth rate of coenzyme Q10
to India and Japan was higher, 40.82% and 193.35% respectively. The export
volume of vitamin
raw materials was US $1.362 billion, down 22.59% year on year. The main
export markets were the United States, Germany, the Netherlands, Japan and
India. Among them, except for the flat export to India market, the export to
other countries has declined to some extent.
