Thanks to the policy support, such as the Belt and Road, and zero-tariff policy , the China’s NPK fertilizer export is rising sharply in 2019. According to China Customs, China has exported 464,400MT NPK fertilizer in the first six months with the export value at 148 million USD, seeing a 409.1% and 285.1% increase respectively from the same period of 2018.

Though the total fertilizer export from China has shown a decreasing trend in the recent years, the NPK compound fertilizer is an exception. Except the drop in 2016, NPK export has presented a significant increase. Especially in 2018, the NPK fertilizer export was 365,000 MT, seeing a 781% year-on-year growth.

Based on the monthly data, China’s NPK fertilizer export in the first half of 2019 is much higher than the same period of 2018, especially in March 2019, the NPK fertilizer export reached 130,000MT, hitting the peak record in the first half of 2019.

Though the NPK export quantity in 2019 showed a rapid rise, the average export price was kept below 400USD/MT, much lower than that of 2018.

According to China Customs, Myanmar, Philippines and Vietnam are the top three China’s NPK export markets, accounting for 43%, 29% and 6% respectively in the total NPK fertilizer export in the first four months of 2019.
