China's heavy anti-corrosion coating industry in 2011-2017
Anti corrosive paint is a composition of corrosion resistant pigments such as zinc chromate, lead chromate, zinc oxide, zinc dust, zinc chromate, or red lead. The anticorrosive paints impede or obstruct the corrosion by reducing the direct access of air and water to the metal. Anti corrosion coating allows added protection of metal surfaces and acts as a barrier to inhibit the contact between chemical compounds or corrosive materials.
Compared with common anti corrosive paint, heavy anti-corrosion coating has much longer protective life in a very harsh corrosion environment. Heavy anti-corrosion coating is usually applied in these domains such as transportation, petrochemical industry, oceanographic engineering, constructional engineering, etc.
From 2011 to 2017, the sales volume of heavy anti-corrosion coating was seeing a steady increase year by year. In 2017, it has reached 88.465 billion Yuan, increasing by 14% from a year earlier.
Besides, heavy anti-corrosion coating output was increasing year by year during these years. In 2017, its output was 3,887,000 tons, increasing by 10.6% from 2016.
From the perspective of geographical distribution, Eastern and South China account for a large proportion with the share of 47.87% and 23.37% respectively.
